Community Bonding Period (2nd May - 27th May)
During this period we got to know Our mentors and our teammates for the project, It was quite an exciting time as we got to interact and know each other : )
Apart from getting to know each other we also spent some time mapping and strategizing the work to be done within the next 12 weeks period.
We got invited to the ROS Simulation weekly meetings where we got to meet the amazing team that works in the Backend improving and building ROS and Gazebo.
Coding Starts (27th May)
Week 1&2 (27th May to 10th June)
Week-1
My college had ongoing exams during this time period hence I took a break till 2nd of June for the exams.
Meanwhile the other members of the team where actively working on updating and documenting the installation for the new Dave (support for ROS 2 Jazzy and Gazebo Harmonic).
We primarily worked on updating the shell scripts commands and packages required for New Dave !!
Further after my Examinations, I Helped in testing and Debugging the errors from the scripts.
All of this was mostly completed by the first week.
Week-2
We had worked on mostly, migrating models (also removing plugins) and uploading them on to Fuel and also creating documentation on the topics like -
- How to use Models from the Fuel Manual
- Fuel Upload Research and Manual
Week 3&4 (11th June to 24th June)
Week 3 and 4, I mostly working on Researching the Plugins that we would need to Migrate in our week 5,6&7. Dicision on what we need to migrate was based on how and what features do we want on our Benchmark ROUV.
Further, we migrated the Launch and World files to ROS 2 Jazzy and Gazebo Harmonic respectively.
